We were delighted when BBC Radio 1 announced they were bringing Big Weekend to Stewart Park in Middlesbrough on 25th & 26th May 2019. As well as some of the hottest names in pop music, the festival will bring thousands of visitors to the local area. To promote some of the fantastic activities we have here in Teesside we are officially inviting Greg James, the BBC Radio 1 team and any of the artists performing at Big Weekend along to Air Trail!
Is that Greg James, Scott Mills, James Arthur, Miley Cyrus, Stormzy, Anne Marie, Billy Eilish, Rita Ora and Nick Grimshaw at Air Trail?!!
When Big Weekend 2019 was announced back in February the BBC Radio 1 team were asking about local attractions and ‘the high ropes course’ did get a mention, so thank you to whoever that caller was!
We have decided to use the hashtag #GetGregToAirTrail to encourage the BBC Radio 1 team to visit in the run up to Big Weekend, we are even offering to collect them in a powerboat and whizz them along the River to Tees Barrage International White Water Centre – the home of adventure in the heart of the North East!
Facebook – We have pinned a post to the top of our Facebook page at facebook.com/airtrailteesbarrage please ‘like’ the post, comment with 🙋 and share the post to help us spread the word, far and wide.
Selfies – We have a range of different BBC Radio 1 presenters and artist masks to use in silly selfies down at Air Trail.
Hashtag – We are encouraging our fans and visitors to use the hashtag #GetGregToAirTrail in any photos, posts or comments about Air Trail on social media.
SMS – Text #GetGregToAirTrail to BBC Radio 1 on 81199 (between 06:33 to 10:00 Monday to Thursday). Texts will not be included in your inclusive text bundles, and the exact cost of each message depends on your service provider – it is typically between 10 and 15 pence per message.
