We ask everyone to arrive 30 minutes before they are due to go on Air Trail and then your adventure starts with a short briefing from one of the Air Trail Crew. You’ll then be fitted with your harness and you’ll be ready to enjoy 1 hour of fun.
Children will enjoy 20 minutes on the mini explorer Air Tykes course once they have had their harness fitted.
We suggest wearing clothes that you are comfortable in and suitable for the weather conditions. We ask that you wear suitable shoes, which means, no open toed or heeled shoes or flips flops and that shoe laces are tied tight.
If you have booked online, you will receive a confirmation email with a reminder of the date and time of your booking as well as a reference number. We request that you arrive 30 minutes before you are due to go Air Trail, as we need to go through a few guidelines with you and get you harnessed up and ready to explore. Unfortunately if you’re late, you’re late. Your time starts from the time of your booking so it is in your best interest to arrive early.
No, everything is provided and you’ll be fitted with a harness which will clip you onto the structure. Air Trail is an outdoor activity so you need to dress appropriately. You can also buy Air Trail merchandise on site subject to availability.
To make sure you and fellow explorers are safe whilst using Air Trail, please avoid wearing excessively baggy/loose fitting clothing and open toed footwear. Please ensure all shoes are fastened securely.
Air Trail will only be closed in extreme weather conditions, such as high winds or thunderstorms. Rain doesn’t affect your adventure on Air Trail, and we advise dressing for suitable weather conditions. As they say, a little rain never hurt anyone!
Unfortunately you will not receive a refund for the session.
We have secure lockers available on site for small belongings as you’re not permitted to take any loose items on Air Trail e.g. phones, money, keys etc. Lockers take a 50p coin.
We strive to allow everyone to experience the thrill of our high ropes course, however due to the nature of the activity a certain level of fitness and understanding of the safety information is required. If you would like to speak to a member of the Adventure Crew regarding specific needs, please call us on 01642 265454. For more details about disabled use on Air Trail, please read the Terms and Conditions.
You think you have been on one high ropes course, you have done them all? Far from the truth my friend. Air Trail is the tallest of its kind in the UK, it has two zip rails (the first of its kind outside of the US). Each element is completely different with varying degrees of difficulty. No helmets are needed which gives you that extra sense of freedom. Plus with various routes up the structure you don’t need to follow a set path and get caught up with other explorers.
You certainly haven’t tried a high ropes course until you have tried Air Trail!
You can’t escape the fact that Air Trail is tall. However, who said you have to go to the highest point? There are 4 levels, 2 zip rails and over 38 unique challenges to explore which you can tackle in your own time that won’t impede any other explorers. If you wish, you don’t have to go past level 1. You know your own level. Remember you are perfectly safe, secured to the structure at all times with 2 qualified operators watching over to give you a helping hand if you need.
Yes, there are male, female and accessible toilets onsite for customers, as well as toilets at Tees Barrage International White Water Centre. We advise that you make use of the toilets before you go on Air Trail as you’ll be on the structure for up to an hour and once you come down you are not permitted back on.
There are a selection of hot & cold drinks as well as confectionery available at Air Trail but if you want something more substantial you can visit The Barrage Café in the main Tees Barrage centre building. You can also bring your own picnics and use the tables around the site to relax and refuel.
Dogs are allowed on the Tees Barrage site but unfortunately not inside the Air Trail compound – this does not apply to Guide dogs.
